Seaton Sluice Defibrillator Group, which is a registered charity no. 1179260, has undertaken a long-term community project to provide free CPR and Defibrillator Awareness training, as per the Resuscitation Council (UK) 2021 Guidelines, for the residents, schools and businesses of Seaton Sluice, and also our neighbouring communities in Northumberland and North Tyneside.

Our group has undertaken research which has identified that this long-term community project will be of great benefit to our residents and businesses in general, and our children and young people, with different needs / backgrounds, in particular.
Our group agreed that a training programme would need to be written to ensure safe and effective delivery of our CPR and Defibrillator Awareness training.

We contacted OCN Credit4learning, who are a national and international education Accrediting Body for advice. They were very helpful and supportive, and after our group became a member of OCN Credit4learning, they helped us prepare, and accredit our training programme.

OCN Credit4learning have continued to offer guidance and support over the years, and they revalidated our training programme after 3 years, and updated it when necessary i.e., changes / updates to the Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines, which we use as our standard for delivering our training programme.

This accreditation and ongoing support ensures we deliver a safe, effective and quality training programme, safeguarding our residents, businesses and our children and young people.

Our group has definitely benefited by working in partnership with OCN Credit4learning.
